AI Receptionist

An AI receptionist that gets the caller to the right person

CuraVoice answers your patient line, works out who each caller needs, and warm-transfers them to that person's extension. Then it tells you whether the hand-off was answered.

Who it is for

Practices where the hard part of the phone is routing. If your patients are spread across many sites, each with its own provider and care manager, the person who answers the phone has to carry that whole map in their head. It changes every month. New staff take a long time to learn it, and callers get bounced while they do.

The receptionist reads the map from the directory your team already maintains, so a caller who says "my mother lives at Maple Court and I need her care manager" is connected to the right extension without anyone looking anything up.

What it does on a call

How the transfer works

A cold transfer drops the caller onto a ringing line and hopes. CuraVoice uses a warm transfer instead. The caller hears where they are going. For a shared queue such as the front desk, the staff member who picks up hears a short introduction and accepts the call before the caller is connected. For a direct extension, the caller is connected at pickup and the staff member hears who is calling and why.

If nobody accepts, the caller is told the team will call back, and the call goes on a missed-transfers list with the caller's number and reason for calling, so someone can follow up.

What your team sees

Every call appears on a dashboard with its recording, transcript, the reason for the call, where it was routed and how it ended. Reviewers can leave notes on any call. We use those notes, and a test suite of scripted conversations, to tune the call flow before changes go live.

What it does not do

It does not give medical advice. It does not look patients up in your EHR or write to it. It does not confirm anything about a patient to an insurance company or other third party; those callers are connected to staff. We would rather tell you this now than have you find out in a pilot.

Common questions

What is an AI medical receptionist?

An AI medical receptionist is a voice agent that answers a practice's phone line, understands why the person is calling in plain speech, and either resolves the request or transfers the caller to the right member of staff. CuraVoice's receptionist is built for practices where routing is the hard part: many sites, many providers and care managers, and a directory that changes often.

Does the AI give medical advice?

No. It does not diagnose, triage or advise. A caller with a health concern is connected to a person on the care team, and the call is flagged for follow-up.

What if the AI cannot work out who the caller needs?

It asks one clarifying question, such as the provider's name or the community where the patient lives. If that does not settle it, the caller goes to your front desk. It never asks the same question twice.

What does it do with names it mishears?

When a name is matched by sound rather than exactly, the receptionist confirms it once before transferring: for example, asking whether the caller means a specific provider. If the caller says no, the guess is dropped and never dialled.

Can it take new-patient registrations?

Yes. It can collect a new patient's details during the call and file them into your CRM, or connect the caller to your intake team if they would rather talk to a person.

Does it work after hours?

Yes. It can answer overflow during the day and the whole line after hours, with a different routing plan for each.

Try it on a real line

We start with a pilot on one line or one menu option, so you can listen to real calls before deciding anything.
